Mayas: Made in Hondouras

January 27, 2025• byJustin

Mayas is a web-based fashion company located in South Florida. They offer a wide variety of custom, one-of-a-kind jewelry hand-made in Honduras. Each piece was made using beautiful stones and pendants featuring local colors and decor from the Honduras area.

Mayas needed a brand to represent the love and attention that went into their handcrafted pieces, and to pass that vision on to their customers. This is how we did it!

Creating the logo

Designing for fashion is a tough industry to design for. Trends are always shifting, colors are always changing, and styles go out of fashion quicker than that! My thought was to design something bold, eye-catching and recognizable in an instant. The look came easy, but the color choice was quite a bit more difficult. We wanted something that was unique and that would stick out, but also create a look that would blend in with any color or pattern.

Product Photography

I chose a simple backdrop and scenery to showcase the jewelry pieces, as they were the most important part of the shoot. I wanted to use minimal colors and simple objects so each piece was the main focus.

Marketing & Advertising

Each piece was unique, so it was important to show the craftsmanship that went into it. I decided the best way to sell the pieces was to let them sell themselves. Some simple themed text overlays over the product photo was all it took to make an eye catching ad that could be placed on Facebook, Instagram, or any other social media the client desired.

Other promotional materials

I designed a vertical business card with a front and a back print that would stand out amongst his competitors. We printed several thousand and had to run another thousand shortly after, as he gave them all away at trade shows world-wide.
